General Television 5A5 Black Bakelite Table Radio (circa 1947)
General Television & Radio Corp manufactured a series of
these stylish radios in various colors and plastics during the
pre and post war periods 1940 to 1942 and 1946 to 1948.
The styling of these radios was perhaps reflective of the
television sets that were just starting to go mainstream at
the time. The cabinet, with its bold contrasts and Deco
influences, is elegant in its simplicity and at once highly

The 5A5 features an All-American-Five chassis having tube
line-up:- 12SA7GT, 12SK7GT, 12SQ7GT, 50L6GT and
