Philco Model 49-500 Brown Bakelite Radio (1949)
The Philco model 49-500 is a compact table
model, very similar to the previous year's
48-200. It came in ivory painted bakelite as
well as the walnut bakelite photographed

The tuning range is 540-1620kc on the
standard broadcast band and the tube line
up is 7A8 (mixer/LO), 14A7 (IF), 14B6 (2nd
detector/AGC/1st AF), 50A5 (power amp)

This cabinet style was very popular and in
fact used for a number of years by Philco,
starting just before WWII. As a result, it's
fairly easy to find.
