Zenith Model 6-P-417 Ivory Bakelite Table Radio (1940)
Another original example of Zenith's notorious "upside down bakelite chassis" designs of
1940. This relatively uncommon 6-tube model covers the broadcast and (old) police bands.
According to Zenith advertising literature of the time, this radio was available in mahogany
bakelite as well as ivory (pictured here), grey and green painted bakelite finishes. The
original purchase price was $19.95.
The tube line-up is 35L6G (audio output), 50Z7G (rectifier), 12A8G (mixer/LO), 12K7G (IF
amp), 12Q7G (2nd det/AGC/1st AF), 100-79 (ballast).
