Belmont Model 6-D-111 Painted Bakelite Radio (1946)
This radio is popularly known
as the "Belmont rabbit"
(because of the "ears" along
the top), though I tend to think
that it looks more like a "pig"
because of the resemblance of
the right-side knob to a pig's
snout. This particular example
features a 6-tube series-B
chassis that covers the
standard-broadcast band from
530 - 1650kc. The tube line-up
is 12SK7 (RF amp), 12SA7
(mixer/LO), 12SK7 (IF), 12SQ7
(2nd detector/AVC/1st AF
amp), 35L6GT (AF power
amp), 35Z5GT (rectifier).
Two similar versions were
produced, one making its
appearance just before and
the other just after WWII.
